Introduction

Roche is a proud civil parish and village in mid-Cornwall. The village most likely first acquired its name after the Norman invasion, getting its name from a formidable igneous intrusion, long since left exposed by erosion. Roche Rock (Roche being the Norman-French word for rock), rises 20m to the sky flanked by Trezaise and Carbis rocks.
